Life coaching for professional athletes is designed for
athletes that desire to improve their level of success
in varying areas of their lives. Improving all areas of
an athlete’s life will directly impact the level of
success seen in the athletic realm. LifesReflections
focuses on encompassing all areas of coaching,
including, leadership, personal, mentoring,
relationship, spiritual, success, and career coaching.
All these components contribute to an athlete’s success
mentally.
Life coaching is not counseling or therapy. Therapy or
Counseling usually focuses on the past and coaching is
often more future focused. Coaching is not about
“fixing” broken people. Most people who hire coaches are
quite successful and realize they can be even more
successful with a little guidance.
Coaching also isn’t merely friendly conversation.
Although conversation can be enjoyable, a coaches’ job
is to help you move forward in your life. The focus of
coaching is to facilitate lasting lifestyle change to
encourage deeper success, therefore the coach and client
must come to the conversation ready to work.
Finally Coaching isn’t about handing over answers to
clients. It’s about helping athletes find their own
answers. It’s about helping you become a better
communicator with yourself.
For years athletes have used a personal coach or trainer
for the physical aspect of their game. Like a sports
coach, a Life Coach provides an unbiased outside eye to
help you see things more clearly. Now individuals are
realizing how important it is to have a coach in the
mental aspect of the game as well. Life Coaches help put
the dreams and desires each individual has into motion.
